WebLicensing
Today people expect to be able to pay for things on-line, and an animal license is no different. WebLicensing allows patrons to securely purchase new or renew existing animal licenses on-line with a guided process to minimize errors that require follow-up by your staff. The service is configured to incorporate your agency’s licensing rules with all funds from license sales deposited directly into your bank.
Also included is WebDonation, which allows patrons to make donations as part of the licensing process or as a standalone contribution to one or more funds. All of the data is then integrated seamlessly and effortlessly back into your Chameleon/CMS shelter management software. The best part? This all happens at a massive cost savings compared to your current mailed in or over-the-counter license purchases.
There are 4 major features (besides the improved look and feel) in the list below. Patrons can upload proof in pdf format, patrons can close out their animal records, patrons can purchase Replacement Tags, and you can send a link directly to a patron (see example below) that will allow them to bypass the sign in section.
Here’s a partial list of features of WL3 that aren’t in WL2.

- You can customize the text in all labels and buttons and add detailed help on every field if you choose to
- There are a wide variety of color options.
- We have a Spanish demo version (not live with anybody yet)
- Document upload
- Ability to upload proof documents (ie, sn, rabies) in pdf (and other) formats. WL2 only can upload jpgs.
- Added Senior proof upload (optional)
- You can use whether the patron uploaded a document to trust the info in Chameleon (and make the tag Current) – feature not released yet.
- Postmaster interface that emails a link that enters the TagNo/PersonID for the patron (no more License Not Found errors – at least for this!). Here’s a sample https://licensepet.com/demo?Q1=12345&Q2=Ewing.
- Change of Information
- Allows patron to close out Pet records (eg, DIED, GAVE AWAY, etc)
- Allows patron to change their address/phone without licensing (optional) – they can change their information during licensing process now
- Jurisdiction checking
- If a person enters the TagNo/PersonID, and they haven’t moved, we don’t ask them what jurisdiction they live in (we trust what you have in Chameleon)
- If they move, we ask them their jurisdiction (if there are more than one per zip code)
- If they are out of the county (or in a jurisdiction you don’t provide services to), we redirect them to the right place (eg, Riverside County, LA County, Rancho Cucamonga, Hesperia, etc.)
- We have hookups to use your checker data, but no clients are using this feature yet.
- Misc
- Full control of donations (eg, text, images, videos, etc)
- Patron can enter TagNo and LastName (instead of TagNo/PersonId) – that’s a preference you have. They can also enter a microchip, a Rabies TagNo, or even an old TagNo
- We show all pets they have and the expiration for each (WL2 only shows those that need licensing)
- We automatically fill in any microchip that we have for the pet (although you don’t currently collect that in WL2)
- Ability to purchase replacement tags
- Ability to purchase “special” tags (eg name tags, designer tags, etc) or t-shirts, etc
- We can schedule price changes
